"The girl who knows how to dress up a tee and dress down a dress" - Ella Moss

Its no secret that Babe. loves Ella Moss. From effortlessly chic tee shirts to stunning dresses, we just love how easily wearable these one-of-a kind pieces are! With more and more of our fall collection rolling in, some of our favorite pieces continue to be Ella Moss.

Ella Moss was created out of the collaboration between Pamella Protzel-Scott (Ella) and Moise Emquies (Moss). While many people think Ella Moss is a specific person, Pamella says that "she is more of a muse, a modern bohemian, she represents the vision for the collection". Pamella, the designer and creative director behind Ella Moss, began as a graphic designer, but soon realized her true passion in pattern-making and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA. She founded Ella Moss along with Moise in 2001. You can definitely see the influence of graphic design and printmaking behind Pamella's designs. We here at Babe. believe that this is why her designs continue to be unique, all while maintaining that specific 'wear-ability' that is necessary for truly timeless clothing.

Stop in store today to check out Babe.'s Ella Moss collection.

Babe. Of The Week: Heather

1.       What’s the occasion? Girls Dinner.
2.       Why did you pick this dress? The color and the cut. You have to find something on your body that you really like and play off of that.
3.       What is your favorite trend this season? I don't focus much on trends. The most important thing is fit and how things compliment my body and my favorite assets. And if a couple cut outs are thrown into the mix, that doesn't hurt either.

STYLE PROFILE: ADA COLLECTION

ADA Collection was founded in 2004 by Ada Komorniczak, who realized her inner talent for design while earning her International Law & Society degree and Master’s degree in Business. It was then she decided to pursue a project of her own. While traveling in South America, Komorniczak stayed in Argentina where she became inspired by the one-of-a-kind colors, textures, and finishes used to hand craft leather. In Argentina, she also met her business-savvy and entrepreneurial husband, Gaston Deferrari. Together, they started building their line of functional and versatile handbags made with rich leathers, known today as ADA Collection.

Since then, ADA has expanded their popular collection to include belts, wallets, and other leather accessories made with the same rich and smooth leathers, unique shapes, and functional details used in their handbags line.

Here at Babe, we love the ADA wrap belt’s sophisticated yet functional style, which makes it one of our favorite summer accessories.

The best part: it can be tied an endless amount of ways! Watch the video below to learn how to tie, wear, and style the wrap belt with your wardrobe.

STYLE PROFILE: TBags Los Angeles

TBags Los Angeles was started in 2001 by Shadi Askari-Farhat and Su-Lyn Tay, who met while completing  their post graduate degrees in merchandising and product development at the Fashion Institute of Design and  Merchandising in LA. They both realized that there were a lack of affordable but inventive lines in the current market and saw an opportunity to change that. While they were still in school, they began to work with vintage fabrics, suede, and upholstery to create stylish and unique handbags. Quickly, their line was picked up by high end boutiques and department stores. Since then, it has evolved into an in-demand clothing brand that still stays true their original ideas.

“We create clothes that we wish we had hanging in our closets,” says Shadi. “It’s not about trend or the look of the season, it’s about creating what we think is missing.”

“It was a natural progression,” says Su-Lyn. “We were using all sorts of vintage fabrics and giving them a contemporary edge through the use of modern silhouettes. The idea of draping, shape, and pattern translated easily into a fresh and modern collection of pieces that easily went from day to night.”

Known for their signature prints, lux "non-wrinkle" fabrics, and their overall inventiveness, TBags Los Angeles has earned a special place in Babe.'s heart.

STYLE PROFILE: Splendid

As many of you know, Babe. is a huge fan of Splendid. The luscious materials, fashion forward styles, and bright colors, keep us coming back for more.

Splendid is the brain child of  Moise Emquies, a law school graduate, who is now credited with creating the world's most perfect T shirt.  While waiting for the results of his California bar exam, his friend asked him to dabble in design and make a shirt to sell in her boutique. Emquies dove into the opportunity, learning everything he could about textiles, design, and what it would take to make the ultimate shirt. He found the highest quality fabric he could and his first design sold out very quickly. During this time he had gotten a job at a law firm, but still continued to design shirts for his friends boutique.  He improved and modified his shirts with each design and eventually opened his own fashion company called Leopold.  Through Leopold, he was was introduced to Pamela Protzel, who would later become the head designer of Ella Moss (another Babe. favorite ;)) which is also owned by Emquies.

Splendid is the culmination of  the softest fabrics and most color absorbing yarns in the world in order to make the ultimate t shirt.  After a ten year search Emquies has found the perfect combination, using 50% supima cotton, which gives the fabric body, and 50% micro modal, which is a super soft form of rayon that deeply absorbs dye. In 2002, Splendid the brand was born, with a full t-shirt collection including 9 different body styles. Since then, the brand has expanded, carrying all types of clothing for women, men, and children.   Splendid is also mostly manufactured in the USA, which also makes it stand out from other brands. Comfortable, stylish, and effortless, Splendid makes us look like a million bucks while feeling like we are wearing light weight pajamas.

Here are some Splendid styles currently available at Babe. Being stylish never felt so good!
